28 апреля в РГГУ прошёл Фестиваль языков Индии, организованный инициативной группой студентов 1 курса ФиПЛ ИЛ РГГУ при поддержке Института лингвистики и Культурного центра им. Джавахарлала Неру (JNCC) при посольстве Индии в России. Участники проекта принимали активное участие в организации фестиваля.

On 21-23 November 2017 the Saint Peterburg union of scientists and the Russian Geographical Society organized all-Russia interdiciplinary scientific conference «“Russian Himalayan Studies: yesterday, today, tomorrow”». Our team presented the talk “Linguistic expeditions to Indian Himalayas” at the linguistic part of the conference. The participants discussed some very important questions about the cooperation of the researches of the Himalayas region. The photos by Natalia Terexina are available here.
Research on the pahari languages was presented at the Conference “Small Languages in Big Linguistics” in honour of 50th anniversary of Russian school of fieldwork linguistics founded by Alexandre Kibrik. The presentation of the talk is available on our website.

New expedition to Himachal Pradesh has taken place in September-October 2017. We have collected new texts, lexical and grammar material on Kullui and other local languages, got some new sociolinguistic information. Again we were guests at the wedding in Naggar, visited Kullu Dussehra and also took part at the Festival, organized by IRMT. New information is going to be available soon at our website!
